The Local Area
A choice of riding stables and tennis clubs, marinas and restaurants. Hiking through hidden valleys in the Alcornocales natural park, bird watching in the Donana natural park, a number of picturesque white villages and the more major towns of Cadiz or Jerez for day trips, Seville or Grazalema for a couple of days. Tarifa is an hour down the coast - past Trafalgar and the ruins of Baelo Claudio - from where Tangiers is only 40 minutes by high speed ferry.
During late spring and autumn most of the local villages and towns throughout Cadiz province hold their own feria which is normally a celebration of the local wine culture or bull fighting with a funfair, hospitality tents, judging of local farmers produce and an excuse to party.
LaLuz magazine and Vida Magazine - both aimed at the expat and holiday community - are ideal sources of local information with restaurant reviews, articles and othe sources of information; both usually available at the Campano Golf club house or the Los Faroles restaurant on San Andres. |
