La Marina is perfectly located for the ideal holiday. The urbanisation has many supermarkets, shops, banks, bars, restaurants and two water parks for the kids. There is a market on Thursday and Sunday. There are many local sites of interest including, Roman, Moorish and Spanish. Santa Barbara castle in Alicante and the caves of Canelbre at Busot are recommended. Hiking up the Callosa mountains, Benidorm zoo, Terra Mitica theme park, Elche's safari park, the Aqua parks of Benidorm and Torrevieja and the hilltop town of Guardalest are all a fun day out. There are many museums, caves and castles to explore. A short boat trip away is the Island of Tabarca well worth a visit, and for quieter days how about a hot air balloon ride or a jeep safari or just relaxing on the long sandy beaches that stretch uninterrupted for 10 miles. A bit further afield 30 50 minute drive is Campoamore, Villamartin, Las Ramblas, El Plantio and La Manga.
