The house is located in a typical Languedocian village, right in the centre, with all amenities within a couple of minutes walk.
Nissan is a bustling village with a couple of restaurants, a good bar which serves food, a pizzeria, 3 bakers, charcuterie, a bank, chemist and several hairdressers.
During your stay in Nissan you are entitled to use the tennis courts which are free to the villagers.
The house dates from the mid 1800s and has been lovingly restored by the new owners. All rooms have high ceilings and some have decorative plasterwork or beams. Windows are tall, giving the house a majestic feel. All original floors have been retained to excellent effect.
The entire house has been re-painted and decorated, the kitchen is new and all fixtures and fittings are of a high quality.
You enter into the house from the road directly into a large room which has a games area and a dining area.
There is a pool table and dart board on one side and a fabulous Jacobean table with 8 chairs on the other. It is a superb space to spend an evening after a day in the sun.
This room leads into a couple of hall/sitting areas and from there, either into the kitchen and lounge or upstairs via a fabulous stone staircase.
The kitchen is galley style with beamed ceilings and everything is brand new. Large American fridge freezer, electric oven, 4 hobs, extractor fan, 1.5 sinks, small table and stools and there is a door to the terrace, making it a very light and airy space to work in.
On the other side of the hall is the huge lounge which has a fabulous fireplace as a centre piece with an original decorative plasterwork above it depicting Diana over it which has been restored by the owners. There is a comfortable sofa and 4 easy chairs to seat 7 easily. There will be internet access and WiFi available.
Go up the staircase to the master bedrooms which is huge and has a lounge area with two 2 seater sofas and an easy chair by the fireplace. There is a TV with UK satellite, tall windows and a dressing table as well as plenty of wardrobe space.
Next to the master bedroom and leading into the single bedroom is a brand new shower room with large shower cubicle, basin and WC.
The single bedroom is very prettily decorated and perfect for a child who can then share the bathroom with parents.
Up a separate set of stairs to floor 1.5 where there is another double bedroom with ensuite. The ensuite is again, a large room with bath, shower screen, basin, bidet, WC and there is even space for a sofa!
The main stairs take you to the second floor where there are a further two bedrooms and a shower room. These bedrooms are smaller than those on the floors below but are still a very good size and both have windows onto the road, drawers and wardrobe space. One has a double bed and the other has 2 twin beds.
The shower room has a shower cubicle, basin and WC.

Two doors lead out to the pool and terraces, one from the hall and the other from the kitchen.
There is a lower dining terrace with table and chairs, also an excellent place to sunbathe.
Up a couple of steps to the upper terrace where you will find the pool and BBQ area. The pool is about 6m x 5m and the BBQ/bar area is opposite, making this a fabulous place to while away the entire day, alternating from dips in the pool, sunbathing and eating and drinking!

Local amenities:
Beaches are only a 25 minute drive away to Valras Plage which has miles of long sandy beaches and is lined with restaurants, bars and shops. There is also a little port area and a fabulous outdoor fish market. Valras has plenty of free, organised entertainment, particularly during the peak summer weeks.
Our region in the Languedoc is rich and varied, which you will really enjoy exploring. You can only really get to know the region after spending some time discovering its countryside, meandering along its paths and beaches and tasting its fine wines. Its Mediterranean coast and mountainous hinterland are bathed in sunshine over 300 days a year and provide wonderful escapades for families or couples, on horseback or on foot, by bike or by canoe.
