This ancient and beautiful ‘casa grande’ has been completely restored to provide superb self-catering holiday accommodation for six. Equipped and appointed to the highest standards, the house offers an exclusive atmosphere to which you can escape. Should you require it, there is also a delightful two person, self-contained hideaway apartment nestled into the side of the hill beneath the main house.

Having parked your car in the private garage, you will enter the cool hallway of your home for the next week or two. A baby grand piano is available to you in the hall, which leads to the principal rooms. A large dining kitchen with dishwasher, wood burning range stove, gas and electric cooker and access to the side terrace for easy al fresco dining. A large and impressive sitting room with an open fire and access to the front terrace, which commands the most breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.
Off the terrance, the cool tower room is the ideal bolt hole for a quiet read with a cup of coffee or glass of local wine.

Upstairs there are three fully appointed double bedrooms, two en-suite, one with balcony. All have shuttered windows for keeping cool.

The house sits in tumbling gardens dotted with cyprus and olive trees. There are two terraces at ground floor level as well as the loggia, which takes full advantage of the views, half way down to the pool. Surrounded by its own terraces, the pool is generous in size and kept clean by a salt system that is kind to the skin and eyes.

Nestled deep into the hillside, this one-bedroom self-catering apartment is the ideal escape from the pressures of everyday life. Quiet and private, it was built to be cool in summer and cosy in winter. Perfect for giving independence to the parents or children whilst they holiday with the rest of the family.

Overlooking a National Park, the house is situated in the sunny foothills of the Apuan Alps and verdant hills. Both the main house and the apartment benefit from spectacular views that change in hue and contrast from day to day.
Approached by a gravel road suitable for motor vehicles, the house sits perched at the top of the tiny village of Folegnano, which is just minutes away from the small town of Gragnola with its railway station, shops, restaurants and bars.
When it is time to venture out you’ll find wonderful walks at the front door and a wide choice of restaurants within the locality.

The coast and its dramatic beaches are within easy reach and pony trekking can be arranged if you’re feeling adventurous.

Local wine, oil and vegetables are all available in Gragnola only 5 minutes away. If you can’t bear to be away from the pool for any longer than necessary, there is a small shop at the end of the lane where fresh bread and delicious lunch time treats can be found to keep you going until dinner.


The prices are per week and they include water, gas, electricity, linen changed weekly and final cleaning. Both the main house and the apartment are fully equipped.
