Villa Il Bosco is a charming stone farmhouse in a panoramic position in the hills close to the medieval town of Cortona. The villa, which is completely secluded, has a beautiful private swimming pool surrounded by lawns and in front of the house is a lovely terrace with table and chairs, perfect for dining al fresco whilst enjoying the peace and tranquillity.

Villa Il Bosco is situated in a stunning position in its own lovely grounds. Completely private, it is surrounded by beautiful wooded hills that lead to valley of Cortona. The villa itself has been carefully restored by its attentive owners and is tastefully furnished in Tuscan country style creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. On the ground floor there is a cosy lounge with beamed ceilings, settees and armchairs set around an original fireplace, a dining room, a pretty kitchen, as well as a twin bedroom (which converts to a double on request) and a bathroom. Internal steps lead to the first floor which opens out into a lounge area with settee (where an extra bed can be provided on request to accommodate an extra person) and there are a further two bedrooms and a shower room. The first floor opens onto a small balcony with external steps leading directly into the garden.

The villa is surrounded by mature gardens filled with plants and flowers and has a large paved terrace with table and chairs for dining al fresco. A few steps away is the villas’ lovely private swimming pool (8m x 4m) which is furnished with sun loungers and is the ideal spot for relaxing and enjoying the quiet essence of the Tuscan countryside.

Although immersed in the heart of the countryside Villa Il Bosco is excellently located for exploring the area. Medieval Cortona is only 6km away and the towns of Montepulciano, renowned for its excellent wine, and Pienza, for its pecorino cheese, are easily reached. The treasures of the region of Umbria with its famous hill towns of Perugia and Assisi to name but a few are also within easy driving distance and Lake Trasimeno with its beaches, sailing facilities, and ferry services to its islands is an interesting place to visit. Excellent road connections also make Florence and Rome easily accessible.

Note: The villa is reached by an untarmaced country road which is steep in places and may not be suitable for low lying vehicles.
