The farmhouse, built entirely in stone, dates back to 1732 but its history actually includes an ancient lookout tower which was erected in the 1300's to help defend the territory and stood standing up until the 1950's. It has been lovely restored over the years without ever compromising its true identity. Surrounded by a hectare of land exclusively used as gardens: oaks, cypress trees, holms, firs, lime, olive and fruit trees. The splendid, recently built swimming pool is the true gem of the property! The house can comfortable sleep seven guests and, if necessary, there two more sleeps can be added on sofa. All three levels of the home are decorated in simple elegance with furnnishings ranging from classic to modern style. Guided excursions and visits in and around the splendid Umbrian countryside as well as its infinite little medieval towns and castles.
From the main entrance, guests find themselves in a cosy living room whose rare characteristic is its authentic wood beam-and-slat ceiling, the old brick fireplace and the three bright windows allowing one to gaze all around. The completely outfitted kitchen is furnished with every comfort: dishwasher, refrigerator, freezer, oven, stove and tableware. A few steps from the living room a small but delightful spare bedroom is found overlooking the Tiber River and just around the corner there is a large bathroom with shower. Three more bedrooms are on the second floor. The first one is very large with original terra-cotta floors and a quaint half bathroom en-suite. From the large west-facing window, one can enjoy the spectacular view of the sun which slowly disappears beyond the green hills. The moon, venus and an extraordinary stardudded sky create a romantic and fascinating backdrop at nighttime. Midway down the hall, the second bedroom, tastefully furnished with its two wraught-iron twin beds, overlooks the Tiber River Valley. Boasting a stupendous view of the hill giving rise to the ancient Montesanto Monastery and the town of Todi, the third bedroom exudes simple elegance. Its window towards the east offers breathtaking emotions at sunrise or of the moon, sometimes brilliantly white, other times fiery red, enormous, fascinating! A small dependance sists besides the main structure. with a wood beam ceiling, terra cotta floors and cosy fireplace, it is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of tea or an enthralling book. The spacious stone portico topped with a wooden ceiling is an excellent place from which one can admire the splendid view of the grounds. It completes this small slice of paradise immersed in the silence and greenery of the Umbrian hills yet, at the same time, very close to the Medieval hilltown of Todi, defined by American researchers as "the towm with the world's highes quality of life"!
