Today, the heart of St. Augustine retains the distinctive plan of a 16th century Spanish Colonial walled town, much of which has been preserved or restored, including the 16th century fort\castle. The many remaining colonial buildings in the historic district present an impressive array of architecture from 1703 to 1898.

With a slight chill in the air, retreating indoors for a delicious meal at any of our dozens of restaurants is then a good bet. Hot chocolate is also available at many cozy, beautiful cafés in the historic district.

For families with children, this is one of the best locations in Florida. You will be staying in an original Spanish style city with miles of open beaches. If you want to visit Disneyland, Universal Studios, Waterworld, Kennedy Space Center or any of the attractions of Orlando - it takes just 90 minutes by car. Locals usually drive in to Orlando ready for the park opening time(s) and return home when they close.
