Beli Iskar is situated in the foot of Musala peak at an altitude of 1130 meters, with an incredible scenery and is the most strategic place in the Rila Mountain.
Many attractive routes start from here to the 2 925 m. high Musala peak ( the highest peak on the Balkan Peninsula ), to Borovets and Malyovitza resorts, the Seven Rila Lakes, Vada, Chakar Voyvoda, Yastrebetz and Granchar chalets and Tzarska Bistritza palace.
The greatest advantage of Beli Iskar is that it is located close to the Rila National Park and its boundary is only 1 km above the village. This is the largest natural reserve in Bulgaria and one of the largest in Europe. It was created to conserve the forest and the subalpine ecosystems, forming a unique natural complex. The total area of the reserve is 12 393,7 ha spreading its territory around Beli Iskar and the Musala summit.
There are many sights in the park. Wild animals and plants can be seen at any time of the year. They are protected by and registered in the Red Book. Tables with benches are made throughout the park, so that tourists can make themselves comfortable.
