LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION:Opposite the 300 year old church, behind the ancient Moorish castle and at the heart of the old quarter, this large, traditional townhouse overlooks La Plaza de La Despedia, the old square in Įlora. Step outside into life in this fascinating historical town, step back in and relax in a comfortable and spacious house - then enjoy the wonderful views from the roof terrace over the square, the rooftops of the town and to El Hacho, the local mountain. The town is an extraordinary place to be the wider region has many areas of outstanding natural beauty, villages and towns to explore and sites of historic interest and importance to visit. The house has just been refurbished, which we have tried to do in a manner that provides modern convenience but also in a way that retains the traditional Spanish heart of the house. There's certainly plenty of space! Lounges upstairs and downstairs, three huge bedrooms (one a family suite of two rooms), bathroom and separate shower room - a house of this size definitely needs a second bathroom but having a second kitchen next to the roof terrace is a real bonus, it just makes life so much easier!
The terrace overlooks the church, the square and the rooftops of the town but also has lovely views of the countryside for miles around and of El Hacho, the mountain that overlooks the town. In this part of Spain for most of the year you will want to eat outdoors and we have made a dining area on the terrace that comfortably sits 8 people.
And, of course, the square is just outside of the front door so you can just go out and soak in Andalucian life. Personally, I enjoy reading a book in the shaded viewpoint opposite the house or sitting with a beer in Oscars, at the far end of the square.
As we have just finished the refurbishment we have decided to offer holidays at the much reduced rate of £290 per week until March 2012, to get things moving and until we are sure everything is working as it should, with further cheap deals through the summer of 2012.
