La Ferme de Boyer is a typical French farmhouse, built in 1790, surrounded by a large garden in the beautiful wooded countryside of the Ariège.
The double or twin-bedded rooms (5m x 5m) are comfortably furnished and all have en-suite bathrooms.
We offer farmhouse dinners on a table d'hôtes basis, either in our main salon or in the garden.
We can also offer a self-contained 2-bedroom gite with salon and kitchenette, sun terrace and use of pool.
Mirepoix has a choice of shops and several cafés and restaurants with generous, reasonably priced menus and the red and rosé wines of the Corbières and Minervois. The arcaded main market square, surrounded by timbered 13th century houses, also has country antiques and pottery shops and is a great meeting place on market days.
The fortified Cité of Carcassonne is 50 kms away and Toulouse is 80 kms from here. The beaches of the Mediterranean are a 90 minute drive and the Pyrenean ski resorts are an hour away. The duty-free shops of Andorra are also within a 90 minute drive.

The huge Lac du Montbel is 10 kms away, where you can swim and windsurf, it also has a bird sanctuary. There are tennis courts in Mirepoix, nearby riding stables and an international go-kart track, and a good golf course near Carcassonne. Canoeing, canyoning, and the prehistoric park provide great days out.
Locally, there is the extraordinary cave church in Vals and the underground river of Labouiche, or the fortified village of Camon and the romantic château at Puivert, 30 kms away. The gaunt remains of the fortress château at Montségur (35 kms) looms on a precipitous rocky pinnacle above the village nestling beneath it and is the symbol of ancient Cathar resistance.
