Property for rent in Carcassonne Aude Languedoc-Roussillon France.
Mountain View is situated in the small village of Marseillette, just 15 minutes from Carcassonne and 60 minutes from Beziers. Set on the banks of the Canal Du Midi and surrounded by vineyards and the Alaric Mountains, its central location is perfect for exploring this beautiful region of Languedoc.

Set over 2 levels there are 3 spacious bedrooms with exposed beams and fitted wardrobes, and 2 full bathrooms with bath/shower, wash basin and toilet. Good quality bed linen and towels are provided and included in the rental.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine, and the open plan lounge and dining area both seat 6 comfortably. Paid satellite TV and wi-fi internet access are available.

3 sets of patio doors open out onto a fabulous private south facing terrace, which offers spectacular panoramic views over the vineyards and Alaric Mountains; perfect for sunbathing, relaxing and summertime dining! On the 2nd level there is a low ceiling mezzanine with a sofa bed, ideal as a second lounge or games room.

We try to be as flexible as possible with changeover days. We offer mid-week changeovers whenever possible to allow you to take advantage of cheaper flight and ferry prices in high season.
We also offer mid-week short breaks and long weekend breaks even in high season. Please contact the owner for availability. Long term rentals can also be negotiated.

Around the Village.

Bread, wine and basic provisions can be bought in the village and there is a post office, hairdressers, terrace bar and a hotel/restaurant serving lunches and dinner.

In the nearby town of Trebes, an 8 minutes drive away, you will find all amenities including 3 supermarkets, chemist, doctors, banks, tourist information office and a nice choice of bars and restaurants. A smaller supermarket can be found in the nearby town of Capendu, a 5 minute drive.

A welcome book and activities guide are in the house offering more detailed information and recommendations on where to eat and drink in the area.

The Canal Du Midi runs through the village just a few minutes walk from the house. The beautiful tree lined route is perfect for an evening stroll or cycle ride. The village lock can be quite entertaining during the summer months as the hotel barges and hire boat try to negociate the tricky lock gates!

The etang behind the Canal is a great cycle route with quiet roads lined with sunflower fields, apple orchards and vineyards. Bike hire can be arranged locally.

The village community centre has a children's play area with climbing frames, see-saws and also a new boules pitch.

The river Aude runs through the lower part of the village and good fishing is possible here and around the area with a permit.

Carcassonne Area Information
The region of Languedoc is an undiscovered gem. Bordering the beautiful Mediterranean coastline, the snow capped mountains of the Pyrenees and the rugged hills of the Massif central; this wonderfully diverse and stunning region offers the perfect holiday destination with something for everyone to enjoy.

Horseriding, swimming lakes, zoo's and adventure parks are all close by (10-15 minutes by car) and you'll find an activities guide in the house to help you make choices that will thrill and inspire all members of your party.... whatever the age!

The breathtaking medieval Cité de Carcassonne, a Unesco heritage site, is an absolute must see. The 52 towers and two rings of fortified walls surround a bustling town with small narrow cobbled streets lined with restaurants and boutique shops.

The famous Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard and the beautiful Canal du Midi, are also Unesco world heritage sites. You can take a cruise along the Canal from the ports of Carcassonne, Trebes, Homps and Le Somail. Choose between tourist boats with a guide, or hire your own boat by the hour, day or week.

The sun drenched beaches along the Mediterranean coast are just 45 minutes away, with Narbonne Plage, a beautiful long sandy beach, proving to be the most popular with our guests.

There are many Abbeys, Romanesque churches, Standing stones, Cathar castles and stunning Cathedrals worth visiting, in and around the region. The local area is known as 'Cathar Country' and is full of rich and interesting history.

Local markets are held most days in the nearby towns and villages, and there are plenty of opportunities to take wine tours or just stop in at local producers to taste and buy some of the fantastic local wines.

The lovers of outdoor pursuits are spoilt for choice! Gorges, valleys and mountain massifs offer a wide range of outdoor activities, from walking, hiking, canyoning and rafting to rock climbing and paragliding. Canoeing
