Aillac is a small hamlet of houses in the commune of St. Pierre de Frugie. It is situated on the edge of the Dordogne, bordering the Limousin. The cities of Limoges and Perigueux are approximately 40 minutes away. We are just 5 kms from either La Coquille or Chalus for everyday shopping and services. Limoges airport is 40 minutes away by car, so we are secluded without being isolated. Aillac has everything you need for a relaxing time in the heart of the French countryside.
The Farmhouse is set in 7 acres of meadows and woodland and is the perfect choice for those seeking peace and tranquility. The 10m by 5m swimming pool is for the exclusive use of guests and is completely private. It is situated in the south facing back garden, well placed to enjoy sun all day whilst relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. There are plenty of outside eating areas, in sun or in shade. There is a large lawn area and neighbouring meadow and woods to explore. At the front of the farmhouse there are ample shady spots to park several cars.
The large traditional farmhouse Kitchen/Dining Room is a perfect area to unwind during a long French lunch. Traditional features include a vast open fireplace with woodburning stove and exposed beamed walls and ceiling. The Dining Room table seats up to ten. Appliances include an electric cooker with gas hob, American fridge freezer, microwave, washer-dryer and dishwasher.
The main living room is some 30 sq metres but retains a cosy feel with a woodburning stove. It is a lovely cool room in summer but very warm and comfortable in winter. It has a large 42" TV for viewing British television if you fancy a night in after a day in the sun. It also has a CD Player and DVD player/recorder. The French doors open out onto the extensive gardens.
There are four large bedrooms over two floors. The master bedroom (30 sq m) is a lovely dual aspect room with superking size bed and exposed beams on ceiling and walls. There is a magnificent open fireplace in the bedroom and a door leading directly to the upper garden. This is a fantastic place to watch the early morning wildlife as you look over the pool.
Bedroom 2 (30 sq m) is also on this floor. It has twin beds and is also dual aspect, overlooking the front and side gardens.
The main bathroom has been recently refitted to include a modern white bathroom suite, comprising a bath and a powerful walk-in shower.
On the top floor there are two further bedrooms and bathroom. Bedroom 3 (25 sq m) has a double bed and a single bed (sleeping 3) and a Football table. Bedroom 4 (20 sq m) has 2 sets of twin beds (sleeping 4) , a small TV, video recorder and a PS1 with games. We have a Travel cot available for use if required.
The second modern bathroom comprises a white bathroom suite with an in-bath shower.
This is an ideal location for those who enjoy nature in unspoilt surroundings. You can play football in the garden, read in the shade or sit under the parasols a drink, overlooking the pool. There is a gas barbeque for your use.

Dordogne Area Information
Midway between Limoges and Perigueux, the house is 2 km away from the beautiful village of St. Pierre de Frugie. Nearby are the towns of La Coquille and Chalus - where Richard the Lionheart was fatally wounded. The prehistoric caves at Les Eyzies and old towns such as Rocamadour, Bergerac and St. Emilion are within reasonable distance. The farmhouse is set within Parc Naturel du Perigord-Limousin with beautiful countryside all around.
You can fly to Limoges airport from many UK airports (see below). The airport is only about 40 minutes drive away. Alternatively you can drive from Calais within about 6-7 hours.
