Set in the heart of Pezenas Maison Papillon is perfectly located for a relaxing holiday in one of the most beautiful towns in the region. Perfect for a couple or four people to spend time in the stomping ground of the French playwright Moliere, touring local vineyards, enjoying the sandy beaches or the winding beauty of the Canal du Midi.

Maison Papillon is located minutes walk to all the town's restaurants, boulangeries, artisan food stores and craft shops. It is also close to to a supervised public swimming pool and 20 minutes from the beaches of Vias, Valros, Marseillan and Sete.

Maison Papillon comprises a traditional ground floor kitchen and dining area with a cosy daybed where you can relax and read a book. The kitchen is small, but adequately equipped with an oven, two-ring hob and large pantry space to prepare your favourite French food! A large fridge/freezer and washing machine comprises the rest of the kitchen.

Through a door from the kitchen a spiral stone stairwell leads up to the first floor. Here is a large living room, with shuttered windows that open onto a small balconette. The balcony overlooks the pretty winding street with its array of colourful shutters and floral window boxes. This room is perfect to unwind, enjoy a glass of wine or listen to some music. It also doubles as a second/guest bedroom with a double sofabed, complete with full mattress and linen supplied.

On the top floor you will find the masterbedroom is a spacious and airy room, covering the full top floor with three windows allowing views across the tiled rooftops, as well as plenty of light and air. With space to rest, to dress and relax it is a lovely room for a couple, and if necessary allows ample space for a baby's cot.

Free parking in a number of carparks less than five minutes walk from the house.

The lively town of Pezenas plays host to countless festivals throughout the summer months. The Saturday marché is a bustling day out with lots of local produce: wines, cheeses, meats, flowers and crafts. Exploring the surrounding area is all just a short drive with easy access to the main A9 Motorway for day trips to Montpellier, Narbonne, Barcelona and Provence.

Pezenas is simply a fantasitc lively French Renaissance town with a character unrivalled in the region. Once the seat of the government of Languedoc, its important legacy lives on in the grand buildings that now house restaurants, wine bars, boulangeries, countless artisan food shops and craft workshops. In addition to the traditional stores, there is also a large supermarket on the edge of the town, a five minute walk.

The town also has a fully supervised swimming pool with sunbathing and changing facilites along with a children's pool and play area. A public tennis court is also available as well as a public park where open air concerts and theatre are hosted throughout the summer.

Throughout the year the town has weekend and week-long festivals and carnivals and in October there is the annual antiques fair which attracts visitors from all over Europe. Take a 15 minute trip by car to Vias where there is a fun park and a water park for children and adults alike.

Whatevever trips you make from Pezenas make sure you keep Saturday free to enjoy the weekly market which covers the entire town for the day. Finish the day's shopping with a leisurely glass of vwne at one of the many cafes or wine bars.

The town is proud of its associaion with the playwright Molière and during the summer months there are theatre performances of his works indoor and out. Also during the months of July and August all the local shops open until midnight on Wednesday and Friday when it seems the entire area decends on Pezenas, creating a great atmosphere.
