L'Ecurie is set in the beautiful Vendée countryside, in the small village of Lairoux. This is only a 10 minute drive to the cathedral town of Luçon where you will find many shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The safe sandy beaches of La Faute and La Tranche sur Mer are only 20 minutes away. The area has an excellent hiking and cycling network.
The house contains many period features along with a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a private al fresco seating and BBQ area. In the extensive gardens you will find a 12 x 7 metre heated pool (shared with one other house), a boules court , a gym and a large games room with Xbox 360 and table tennis.

- L'Ecurie is set on one level, with only 3 steps down to the large Master Bedroom.
- The living room has an open fireplace and exposed beams, along with a separate dining area.
- There is a laptop with secure wireless internet access.
- The Master Bedroom has panoramic views across Le Marais
- A cot and further single bed are available if required in the master bedroom.
- We can also provide a baby bath, changing mat, highchair and plastic crockery & cutlery for young children.
The smaller bedroom is suitable for children and has bunkbeds.
The games room is packed full of fun things to do - with table tennis, table football, lots of board games and puzzles, dressing up clothes and artists materials. There is also an Xbox 360 and a large DVD library.

* Smoking is not allowed in the house, but is allowed in the al fresco dining area.
* Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required and will be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
* 30% of rental fee is due on booking to secure your stay.
* Remaining 70% is payable 8 weeks prior to your stay.
* Payments are accepted in Euros or Sterling, either by cheque or direct bank transfer.
For high season, the changeover day is a Saturday, but we are able to be more flexible outside of these summer dates. We can also accommodate short breaks (minimum 3 nights) and long winter let
Lairoux Area Information
The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Vendee region
The Vendée is the second sunniest region of France and has lots of excellent beaches from as little as 20 minutes away from our location. This is the ideal spot for walking or cycling holidays and Lairoux is on the edge of the marshes (Le Marais) and the countryside is a bird watchers paradise. There are also 5 golf courses in the area and for a more tranquil day out - Le Marais Poitevin is only 30 minutes away where you can hire boats and take a trip out through the many canals.
The Lairoux area
Lairoux is a small village on a hill overlooking the beautiful Vendée countryside. The house has fantastic views over the marshes below!
Luçon is only 10 minutes away and makes a nice day out with a visit to the 600 year old cathedral or a saunter around the Jardin Dumaine.
The surrounding countryside is great to explore and there are many guided walks around the area - stopping off in many of the picturesque little villages for a coffee or beer - many having weekly markets and brocante or antiques fairs at the weekends.
For a more active holiday, there are many watersports available at La Tranche or Les Sables D'Olonne including surfing, sand kiting, diving and jet skiing.
We are also within 40 minutes drive of the theme parks of Puy de Fou and Futuroscope
L'Ecurie is approximately a 3 hour drive from St Malo, or 5 hours from Cherbourg. The route is mainly on major roads or motorways, and then we are 20 minutes away from Junction 6 on the A83.
Cheap flights with Ryan Air are available to Nantes Airport (Approx 1 hour away), and all major car hire companies are available there. You can also fly in to La Rochelle Airport which is only 40 minutes away.
