Property for rent in Morbihan Morbihan Brittany France.
Ty Rhianna has a large living area with an open fireplace, and an adjacent dining area with a table for four persons. There is a separate kitchen with an electric cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, and plenty of utensils and equipment to cook delicious meals.

Upstairs there is a generously sized double bedroom with a large wardrobe, and a twin bedroom with ample drawer storage. On the same level is a bathroom with powerful shower, toilet and hand basin.

(The adjacent gite Ty Ben has a wood-burning stove in a spacious living area, 3 bedrooms, a double, a twin & single and a bathroom upstairs).

Good quality bedding and towels are included in the price; there are no extra charges for gas or electricity, logs are available. Each gite has garden furniture and a BBQ; there is also a travel cot, highchair and stair gate available for use, you will need to bring your own sheets & bedding for the cot.

We have stayed in many gites over the years and found the facilities offered varied considerably. We bought the gites in 2005 and started renting them to guests after a couple of years. Our philosophy is to offer excellent value for money, all the furniture, beds etc was bought new; the kitchen is equipped with every utensil we think you may need during your stay; the gites are professionally cleaned between lets. Above all we want people to feel that they have had a lovely break; that the gite has provided excellent value for money; and that when they get home they put a note in their diary to visit again in the future.

We offer a discount on the weekly rates of 10% if both gites are booked together, and a further 10% if consecutive weeks are booked - these savings are available all year round.

Morbihan Area Information
Cruguel is a typical Breton village with many stone buildings full of character. The village has a bar that sells fresh bread and croissants daily. The owners Sophie and Thierry also serve delicious food on the weekend (and during the week by prior arrangement) including Entrecote & frites - 8 euros and for only 5 euros - Chipolatas or Merguez & frites. A mobile pizza van stops adjacent to the bar on Sunday evenings and offers freshly prepared and cooked pizzas. In the village there is also a boucherie/charcuterie that offers home-made pates etc as well as keeping a small stock of essential supplies.
Less than 10 minutes away is Josselin with it's beautiful chateau and dolls museum. There are numerous restaurants ranging from fine dining to delicious pizzas, crepes and gallettes. Every Saturday morning there is an extensive market with many stalls ranging from rotisserie cooked chickens, hams & pork; paellas and casseroles; fresh meat and fish; dairy produce; fresh fruit and vegetables; clothing; jewellery and gifts.

Only 20 minutes away is the Lac au Duc, near Ploermel, one of the largest lakes in Brittany - a beautiful location with sandy beaches, sailing, fishing and a golf course. Plumelec less than 10 minutes to the south has a lovely open air swimming pool, which has slides, and which is open during the summer months.

Slightly further away, to the north west is the mighty Forest of Paimpont, a beautiful and mysterious place which echoes of Celtic legends, especially those surrounding King Arthur and the Round Table, and the Quest of the Holy Grail, which it shares with Cornwall. The Forest is said to be part of the ancient Kingdom of Broceliande, home of King Arthur and the wizard Merlin. The Castle of Trecesson is where it is said Morgan-le Fay imprisoned Merlin inside a stone.

Rennes, the capital of Brittany, is an hour to the east and is a bustling city - a centre for shopping, culture, administration and transport links - with an airport, major railway station, bus station etc. Vannes, only 30 minutes away from Cruguel, has a special charm, its medieval beauty with its long harbour stretching down into the Gulf of Morbihan, its historic town walls, colourful markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays and its culture including a Jazz Festival in the summer.

Also well worth a visit are Rochefort-en-Terre with its cobbled streets and impressive Château, and La Gacilly with many artisans - painters, potters, obects d'Art.

In less than an hour you can reach the beaches, quiet coves, and small harbours of the south Brittany coast. Worth considering are: The beaches of Presqu'ile de Rhys, south of Vannes; further west the various beaches around Carnac Plage and La Trinite-sur-Mer - larger centres which have lots of facilities, restaurants bars etc; The Quiberon Peninsula offering a special experience of having beaches on both side of the road, as this finger of land points out into the sea: Larmor Plage and Lomener further west.

Carnac is world famous for its menhirs, more than 5000 ancient standing stones on
