There are museums, activity parks, chateaux, nature reserves, but then you might just prefer an afternoon in the pool and an evening barbecue!

Just for a change you can easily visit the beautiful cities of La Rochelle or Nantes, great days out and maybe a little retail therapy ! There are chateaux and the castle of Richard the Lionheart, there are wine trails and restaurants, there is simply something for everyone !
A very typical French village, drive through and you might think there are few people and no activity. This is your chance to find out, to be part of a village more than a 1000 years in existence. Meet the neighbours, see what's going on, discuss sport and politics endlessly in the bar, learn about quality food and great cooking.
Close by, is the town of Luçon with its huge cathedral, which was the seat of Cardinal Richelieu, before his rise to fame. Follow the Mareuil Wine Trail, try the local Go-kart circuit or hire a sailing boat at the beach. Discover.
Over the last 8 years, our UK guests have come mainly by car choosing either a longer crossing via St Malo, Cherbourg or Le Havre with a shorter drive or a quick crossing via Calais or Eurotunnel and a longer drive. It really is your choice. Ryanair and Flybe fly to La Rochelle where there is carhire facilities at the airport.
