Area Description
Orchard Farm, with our two luxury holiday cottages for two, is idyllically situated on the edge of the very attractive village of Parwich, in the Derbyshire Peak District. We are right in the middle of the country, easily accessible from every direction as you can see from the potted directions below.
Parwich is a real village, with its own pub, shop-in-the-pub and church; it is not on the way to anywhere, yet so easy to get to from all four corners of the country.
There are wonderful walks in every direction right from the front door. You can also play tennis and golf, go fishing, cycling, canoeing, windsurfing, hang gliding, abseiling and rock climbing.
Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Tissington Hall, Buxton Opera House, Dovedale and the Manifold Valley are all in the area, and Carsington Water. You will also find there are lots of excellent shops: food shops antiques and bookshops. Local pubs and restaurants serve excellent food.
Please note, it is difficult - although not impossible - to get here by public transport. However, once here, it is very easy to be completely green and do everything on foot if you feel like keeping abandoning your car. See our (nearly-two) Two Times Ten Top Tips on our blog.
