Property for rent in Almirida Chania Prefecture Crete Greece. The Escape Villa stands majestically above the village of Kokkino Chorio in the beautiful Apokoronas region of North West Crete. With far reaching views across the village to the White Mountains beyond and the shimmering coastline below, this is one of the best locations in the area.
The villa is stunning and very stylishly presented with materials and colours chosen to reflect the local landscape. Constructed in white stone, the villa is light, airy and cool throughout. The terraces immediately around the villa and its pool have been paved in light coloured tiles interspersed with denim blue decking. Whilst the garden area immediately surrounding the villa has been paved or decked, the rest of the garden has been left in its natural state.
Entering the villa, you are immediately met with a feeling of space and light. Although constructed in stone, many of the internal walls are rendered and painted which successfully combines the modern with the traditional.
The ground floor is open plan; lounge areas lead off the well equipped kitchen which occupies a central location, two sets of double doors open up to terraced and decked areas with views of the sea and the pool. One of these terraces provides a private, shady area for outdoor dining with a large marble table and 6 rattan chairs. Inside, sofas and chairs are modern and there is a traditional sofa that converts to a double sofa bed to sleep up to 2 children (please note that prices quoted below are for 5 - additional persons using the sofa bed are charged at £50 per person per week). A TV screen for viewing DVD's/ DVD player and a CD player are provided for your entertainment. There is a fireplace which makes the villa suitable for early and late season holidays when heating may be required on chilly evenings.
All the bedrooms are air-conditioned. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor; this is a single bedroom most suitable for a child. Two further bedrooms and the luxurious bath/shower/wet rooms are on the first floor. The master bedroom is simply furnished with a double bed, cupboards and drawers for storage. The ceiling is timber and finished in a white wash thus continuing the feeling of space and light from the ground floor. The en-suite facilities include a large shower in the style of a wet room. The other first floor bedroom has twin beds and storage for clothes. The family bathroom is spacious and light with a bath, shower, wc, wash basin and large mirror. Both bedrooms on this floor have double doors leading to a private terrace with views of the garden and onwards to the sea.
The modern styling is continued outside with luxurious, comfortable, sun beds around the private pool which has a separate children's section.
The villa is in a fabulous quiet location and currently the final access of approx 150 metres is via an unmade track, however, vehicular access is perfectly possible in an ordinary saloon car.
The Escape Villa is normally rented by the week, from Tuesday to Tuesday to fit in with the majority of flights from the UK to both Chania and Heraklion airports. Some flexibility in arrival/departure days is possible at this villa (depending on other bookings).
Prices quoted are in gbp sterling, per week, for up to 5 people occupying the villa and are not per person. The villa can sleep up to 6/7 with 2 people using the double sofa bed available; each person using the sofa bed is charged at the rate of £50 per we Almirida Area Information Almirida and Kalives are situated in the Apokoronas region to the east of Chania which is where most of our holiday villas are. Quote from a client - June 2011 - "This is our first visit to Crete and we enjoyed every minute of it, it is such a beautiful island and Plaka is wonderful, very peaceful and relaxing with a good selection of tavernas in the square and a little supermarket for provisions - the man who owns it is very helpful!! Almyrida is lovely too with a bigger selection of tavernas, a great bakery and a lovely beach.
Quote from a client - September 2010 - "We loved Chania and recommend it. The drive south to Chora Sfakion is spectacular. Another great drive is to Georgioupolis via Kokkino Chorio with village after village unchanged by time. Sunday lunch in one of the tavernas in Gavalochori surrounded by Greek families enjoying each other's company was great fun."
