Storsjö Country House originates from the 18th century and has recently been carefully renovated to preserve its historical charm. Its modern facilities can accommodate up to eight guests. The house is aimed at luxurious living whilst having an active outdoor lifestyle.
The house has historic and traditional living and dining rooms with fireplaces and a large modern kitchen, all on the first floor. The lower ground floor has a large relaxation room (with a large granite fire place), which is adjacent to the outdoor hot tub. The house is situated by a lake and a boat and boathouse is available to use.
Amongst other things, the lodge offers great cross country skiing opportunities literally outside the doorstep and in the nearby surroundings. Downhill skiing is also available nearby particularly suitable for families and beginners.

The facilities are geared towards luxurious living whilst having an active outdoor life style. Included is free firewood for the numerous fireplaces in the house. Storsjö Sami Village Area Information
The picturesque village of Storsjö with its wood chapel from 1751 is situated in the very western corner of the Swedish county Härjedalen. Most of the county is untouched wilderness and mountains (between 1 meters high) and is home to a rich animal fauna, with the biggest density of bears in Europe. Storsjö is close to the Helags mountain range with Sweden's most southern glacier. The surroundings are still populated by Sami living off traditional reindeer herding. The surrounding areas provide a unique setting for exploring nature and indulging in many exclusive activities both during summer and winter such as fishing, hunting, hiking, orienteering, canoeing, berry and mushroom picking, biking, beaver safari, skiing (both cross country and downhill), driving snow mobiles and dog sledding. It is also possible to visit local Sami villages to experience Sami culture and to see how present day reindeer herding is conducted.
