Information about Saranda:
Saranda is the main coastal resort of Albania. It is spread out around a bay. Most tourist accommodation and eating places are located in the centre of the city. There is also a lively nightlife for all ages. The best time to visit Saranda is between April and November

It is steeped in history considering that near Saranda, there stood the ancient Illyrian City of Onchesmos, mentioned as a port in the 1st Century BC.

Getting There & Away:
There is Public Transport to Saranda from Tirana and Vlora, via the town of Gjirokastra. Several buses to Gjirokastra and Tirana leave Saranda in the morning.

One can count on numerous public passenger ferry crossings between Corfu (Greece) and Saranda. These take between 30 - 60 minutes. Some private companies use catamarans to bring passengers from Corfu to the city of Saranda and Butrint - within 10 minutes.
