One of the most ambitious projects to be undertaken in Bulgaria in recent years, the concept behind the ‘Super Borovets’ project is to expand the current resort of Borovets and turn it into an all year round holiday destination.
The existing facilities will be improved and vastly expanded along with infrastructure and 566 million Euros is expected to be invested. The project has the full backing of the Bulgarian Government and is financed by UK investment fund Equest Investment Bulgaria Ltd (EIB) and the State Fund of Oman together with Glavbolgarstroy and Samakov Municipality.
Super Borovets project provides for the construction of additional 36 km of ski pistes (which will total 78km in total as an addition to the existing infrastructure), new ski lifts, 15 000 bed facilities, and shopping centres.
