Bulgaria boasts a strategic geographic position as a bridge between Europe and Asia, bordering with Turkey to the southeast, Greece to the southwest, Serbia and FYROM to the west, Romania to the north with the Danube River as a natural border, and the Black Sea to the east.
The Bulgaria of today offers political stability, strong economic growth and low costs. In addition, the favourable conditions and guarantees for foreign investors that the Bulgarian legal system provides for have generated excellent business opportunities and investment growth potential. That is why the country has been attracting an increasing number of investors over the years.
Bulgaria is 3 hours away from the UK by air. British Airways and Bulgaria Air have daily flights to and from the UK. Budget airline Wizz Air also operates regular flights to Sofia and Bourgas. In addition, most main airlines provide connecting flights to Bulgaria from the UK and Ireland. Considering its small size, Bulgaria has a great diversity of picturesque and contrasting landscapes of plains, plateaus, hills, mountains, bays, beaches, basins, gorges, and deep river valleys.
Sofia
As Bulgaria’s capital city, Sofia’s city centre is an eclectic mix of architectural styles, largely built complete with a yellow brick boulevard. The city is compact and diverse. Sofia’s geographic location within Bulgaria is such that it favours investors, insofar as it is located on an international motorway - the motorway from Belgrade to Istanbul. Sofia has about 1.5 million inhabitants and a significant number of new arrivals. This is where the country’s most qualified manpower is concentrated. The investment growth in the city is facilitated by the improvements currently taking place with the infrastructure, primarily transport and local services.
