The village’s name is Ivanovo and it is well known with famous Rock Monastery situated near the village, on a fantastic landscape - rock massifs, flanking the picturesque valley of the river Roussenski Lom. As if striving to be closer to God, hermit monks settled here during the 11th-14th centuries, digging cells, churches and chapels into the rocks. Talented artists painted them with realistic frescoes, refined in colour and composition - a real trove of Bulgarian mediaeval painting.
The house was built in 2001 and it has an approval from the Municipality to be turned into a hotel. The first floor consists of an entrance hall, very large lounge with bar, kitchen, one bedrooms, WC, shower room, laundry room and a door leading to the rear garden. There is a massive staircase leading to the second floor which has a winter garden, four bedrooms, one of which is with bathroom with bath-tub and WC, another bathroom with WC on the floor, terrace with garden furniture for having a coffee outside on the terrace. The third floor is accessible via spiral stairs and consists of one bedroom with terrace. There is a ground floor which is currently used as a cellar and boiler room, but its size allows converting the rest of it into traditional tavern (restaurant), night club, gym or anything else. The house is heated by local heating system – radiators connected to large wood/charcoal burner. All floors are tiled; all windows are PVC double glazed.
The garden (660 sq. m.) is easy to maintain and part of it is in front of the house and the rest – at the back. There is covered parking area and a large garage, which is currently used as day-time lounge and space for preparing preserves. Electricity and water are connected to mains; internet and digital television could be also connected. The property is accessible via tarmac road in all seasons and it could be easily turned into a nice family hotel.

The District
Ruse Region includes a part of the hilly Danube Plain, the Danube riverside plain of Pobrezhie and part of Ludogorie lowlands. It is bounded by the regions of Silistra, Razgrad, Targovishte and Veliko Tarnovo, and borders Romania to the north with the Danube River as a boundary. Some of the big rivers are the Yantra and the Rusenski Lom.
The region is important for the national transport system. The Danube River is linked through the European waterway system with the Mein and the Rhine rivers and connects the North Sea with the Black Sea. The first railroad line in Bulgaria – Ruse–Varna, built in 1866, crosses the region. Important roads and railways connect the region with the rest of the country and the only bridge over the Danube on Bulgarian territory connects the country with Romania. The middle point of the bridge marks the boundary between the two countries.
Protected areas on the territory of the region include the Rusenski Lom Nature Park, which comprises the picturesque canyon of the river valley, rock formations near the villages of Pisanets and Mechka, and the Orlova Chuka Cave.
Vestiges of prehistoric life in the region have been found in the Orlova Chuka Cave and in the mound of Ruse. Thracians, living in the area around the 4th c. BC, have left about 250 mounds. The Thracian silver treasure, discovered near the village of Borovo, known as the Ruse Treasure, is notable for the fine skilful decoration of animals’ figures and mythological scenes. The castles built during the Roman times to defend the Danube frontier include Sexaginta Prista (near Ruse), Jatrus (near the village of Krivina), Tigra (near the village of Marten), etc. The rock churches of Ivanovo are notable cultural landmarks of the region and they are included in the UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage. The medieval fortress of Cherven can be also visited. In the 19th century Ruse is the gate for the European cultural influence on Bulgarian lands. The preserved patterns of urban architecture are among the most attractive and stylish throughout the country.
