Renting property in Santa Lucia
The St Lucian tourist board launched a scheme during 2006 called ""The Homestay program"" which is a program that invites tourists to book a room at a local home as opposed to a hotel. This can be booked through tourist board’s main website. Price per night varies with the season.
There is a lettings office at Bayview site, and the Tourist Board estimates an average weekly rental of £520 GBP, with a 70% occupancy rate at today’s figure. However, travel is increasing every day in Santa Lucia, so this figure is likely to increase by the time the development is finished. Tourism to the island has increased significantly over the last few years, especially from the United States. The whole island has only around 4,000 hotel rooms to cater for 900,000 tourists annually, so the Bayview development has a great rental potential.
