A beautiful ecologically renovated stone farmhouse set in 3 hectares of prairie chestnut orchard and woods with beautiful views of undulating countryside in a very peaceful part of France. The house has been ecologically renovated with preserved wooden floors and beams, light and airy rooms with open planning downstairs which links the kitchen, dining room and sitting room to create a spacious and lively living area. There are also lots of cosy seating areas inside and out and beautiful views from every angle.

This spacious house of 160m² is made up of:

Ground floor: Very large fully equipped kitchen/dining room with all mod. cons., sitting room, play area, bedroom with double bed 140 and OFFICE SPACE which can be accessed from balcony (and therefore perfect for uninterrupted work environment) bathroom, toilet, cloak room and covered outdoor veranda.

1st floor: three bedrooms 1) Double bed 160 2) 3 single beds 3) 1 double bed 140 and 1 single bed

There is hot water from our solar panels, seasoned wood from our woods(optional extra) to cook on the wood stove. An automatic wood pellet boiler is provided for central heating. The house has fast fiber optic internet therefore suitable for anyone working from home.

The house is surrounded with its own garden and vegetable patch and poly tunnel and an outside eating area under a shaded pergola with fine views. We provide recycling bins, a compost heap for food waste or to feed the chickens on site with your vegetable and fruit peelings.

There is lots of interesting wildlife in the garden and woods and some beehives in the woods which a local bee keeper manages.

There is a possibility of renting more land if need be.

The nearest local village is 5km away (5minutes drive) where there is a nursery, primary and secondary school (up to 15 years old), a convenience store, 1 bakery, a café, post office, and doctors’ surgery.

The property owners’ sister, husband and two girls live onsite and will be available to welcome you and share info and advice and to sort out any possible queries. The two house's are set in their own gardens and are private.

The area is a walkers / mountain bikers paradise with a myriad of paths to choose from, including some starting from the farmhouse. A lot of the paths are shaded to escape from the summer heat and pass by brooks, lakes and interesting local features including waterfalls.

The Lac de Tolerme is a huge beautiful lake 15km away offering a 4km and 9km partially shaded walk with a exercise circuit option, a beach with supervised swimming, slides, fishing, zip run, pedalo and canoe rental, horse riding, concerts and free activities : all proposed in the summer months, free parking, picnic tables and barbeque area provided and three restaurants

Not to be missed are also the major tourist attractions and beautiful villages such as Rocamadour (1h) Cahors (1h30min), Figeac (30min), Saint Cirq Lapopie (1h20min) and the impressive Pech Merle cave (1h25) and Padirac chasm (1h), Super Lioran ski resort (1h20min) and the nearby towns of Maurs (20min) and St Céré (30min) which complement each other to provide the visitor with shopping, site seeing, events and very good quality produce at the local markets and restaurants.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT NEAR BY AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAVING YOUR OWN CAR TO GET AROUND.
