Even today, it is covered in vineyards and olive groves, with wonderful hilltop towns like Venetian Motovun, with its International Film Festival and the artists' colony of Grosnjan, with an almost month long International Jazz Festival in July. The rich soil of Istria is responsible for its excellent wines, truffles and olive oil. Local fruit, vegetables, fish and meat will remind you of what food is supposed to taste like!

Access is easy, with international airports at Pula, Trieste and even Zagreb, with a motorway leading directly to Istria. Private landing facilities are available at Vrsar and Portoroz. Mooring facilities for ocean going yachts are available at Rovinj.
