Located 35 miles south of international tourist destination Florianopolis and 18 miles west of the resort town Garopaba, the property sits above several of southern Brazil's most beautiful beaches, including Praia do Rosa and Guarda do Embau. Six miles of hiking trails offer spectacular eastern views of Guarda do Embau and Ibiraquera beaches and western views of the mountains in the neighboring 200,000 acre state park.
As part of Brazil's Atlantic Forest, which Conservation International has named a "Hot Spot", the property is home to a wealth of tropical fauna and flora, as well as many mountain springs and three major streams that commence on the property. In order to help preserve this incredible ecosystem, 725 acres of the property have been permanently protected as a private reserve under Brazilian Federal Law.
The property has two houses built with reclaimed wood and brick, one a main residence and the other a guest house. Both are located approximately 200 yards from the main gated entrance and are separated from each other by 250 yards of forest. The property is secluded and offers total privacy.
The main residence is 2200 ft² and includes a master suite with balcony and separate office; a guest suite with balcony; a first floor TV room and library with veranda; a living room with fireplace and veranda that adjoins the dining area and open kitchen; a laundry room with ample storage; and a garage with adjoining work area. The gardens around the residence include a variety of ornamental plants as well as palm and fruit trees like banana, guava, lime, peach, orange, berry, and avocado. Adjacent to the residence are an outdoor shower, a natural swimming pool with a stone deck, a hexagonal kiosk with a wood table with seating for up to 12 people, a gazebo with 11 hammocks, and an area for picnics and campfires beside a pond. There is also an employee facility with storage for equipment and supplies.
The 3300 ft² guest house was created to host workshops and family gatherings of up to sixteen people. It includes two dormitories with mezzanine balconies; one private bedroom; three bathrooms; a fully equipped kitchen and dining area; an events room with fireplace; a small library and living room; a meditation room; and a laundry area. The outside area features landscaped gardens, an outdoor shower, and a natural swimming pool with a spacious sun deck. All hand-made
furniture and kitchen appliances commissioned for the house are included. Both the guest house and residence feature screen doors and windows, ecological septic systems, and stainless steel water tanks.
