An outstanding 200 year old character Stonehouse in Choli, with TITLE DEEDS, A large property with 4 bedrooms, 2 lounges, dining area and kitchen. Large terraces, private pool and a totally separate and self contained stone annex. 10 minutes drive to the beaches and Polis. A UNIQUE VILLAGE HOUSE
Entry to the grounds is via double wooden gates. Crossing the large courtyard we come to the front door of the property. This leads into the first of two lounges, which has a traditional character ceiling with a wood burning fully functioning fire.
Next to this lounge is a bathroom tastefully decorated and containing a sink unit, toilet and bath with overhead shower. Directly past the bathroom is the first of the ground floor double bedrooms, complete with ceiling fan and large amounts of wardrobe space.
This traditional village Stonehouse is L-shaped so directly opposite the bathroom are steps which lead to the second of the lounges. This lounge is very large with character arched stone beams, fireplace, and with patio doors leading to the pool area and outside terrace. Complete with ceiling fan.
Then we come to the generously sized open plan kitchen/diner. This open plan room has arched stone beams, traditional fireplace, is air conditioned, and has a dining table large enough to easily accommodate 8 people. The kitchen is spacious and separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar. Patio doors lead from the kitchen to a Conservatory. This conservatory is to all intents and purposes another lounge as it has 9 removable windows so it can be used in both summer and winter. An ideal place to relax, and enjoy your meals, in the constant Cypriot sunshine.
Going down 2 steps from the side of the kitchen area, is a second bathroom/guest toilet. To the left is a second downstairs bedroom/storage area with a ceiling fan and plenty of wardrobe space. Patio doors lead to the outside terrace. Each of the ground floor rooms is connected by sliding doors or feature stone archways.
Stairs lead from the lounge to the first floor where we have the spacious master bedroom with featured traditional ceilings and with a balcony, overlooking the pool and with stunning views of the local countryside and the mountains.
The second bedroom on this floor has a large window to enjoy the surrounding countryside views and as with the other bedrooms has plenty of wardrobe space. Currently used as an office. Between these two bedrooms is a bathroom complete with walk in shower.
These are the details of the main house but there is, in addition, a separate house/annex, complete with a lounge, kitchen/diner, shower room and double bedroom. This annex is stone built and has a large terrace overlooking the pool and main house. This annex has a separate entrance and is ideal for somebody wanting to do holiday rentals to generate extra income.
In the centre of these properties is a large courtyard area with an 8m x 4m swimming pool, large terraces and a kleftiko oven, ideal for cooking those delicious and traditional Cypriot lamb dinners.
If the above is not enough there is a shed/storage room to the rear of the property which is easily large enough to use as another bedroom
As was stated at the start of this description this property is 200 years old and has traditional ceilings and some walls which are 28” thick!!
Council tax here is 200 Euros per annum and the current owner has negotiated a special rate for the water with the local Mukhtar
This unique, 200 year old character Stonehouse is located in Choli, a traditional Cypriot village, 10 minutes drive to Polis with it banks, restaurants, supermarkets and major facilities, and 15 minutes from the beach and marina at the upmarket fishing village of Latchi.
It is very difficult to find Traditional Stone Houses here in Cyprus but this is an exceptional property and difficult to define ‘character’ but if any property has character this is the one.
