Location: Istarska županija, Ližnjan, Valtura.ISTRIA, VALTURA - Antique with potential!Valtura is a small town in Istria, located in the municipality of Ližnjan, just a few kilometers from Pula. It is best known for its proximity to the archeological site of Nezakcij, the capital of the Illyrian nation of Histri. Nearby is Šandalja, a system of several caves, named after the quarry of the same name. Back in Roman times, stone was exploited in that locality. Today, Šandalja is located in the Valtura Open Penitentiary. Due to the wealth of paleontological, paleolithic and paleoanthropological findings, which were found in 9-meter thick deposits, the locality occupies a leading position on European soil. To date, Šandalja I and II caves, located ten meters from each other, have been explored. The remains of a million-year-old Homo erectus incisor were found there. It is these data that speak of the oldest prehistoric man in Europe. Likewise, the oldest impact tool in Europe (a flint impactor) was also found on this site. There are several quarries in the Valtura area. The limestone of the same name, which is quarried here, is used for lining the interior and exterior surfaces. The town has a Neo-Gothic church of St. John (from 1899), whose twenty-eight-meter bell tower is uniquely built in the shape of an octagon. Right in Valtura, surrounded by beautiful nature and a few holiday homes, this stone complex for adaptation is located and is looking for a new owner. It is only a 10-20 minute drive from Pula, while in the surrounding area there are various family farms where you can enjoy local products. This stone house extends over approximately 160m2 and is surrounded by a little less than 900m2 of construction land. Access to the complex is asphalted and there is electricity on the plot, while water is nearby. If it is reconstructed and a swimming pool and accompanying facilities are added, the house is ideal for tourism business in the form of a holiday home, because the floor plan is ideal for the same. Of course, the possibility of turning it into a family home is not excluded, where the new owner will build memories for a lifetime.
