Sajónémeti is a village of 500 inhabitants and you can do your daily shopping here. For better shopping you can go to Kazincbarcika (18 km), Ózd (10 km) or Szilvásvárad (20 km). The latter is known for its horses. You can also easily go to Slovakia.
Sajónémeti is a beautiful mountainous area and a visit to the caves of Lillafüred is worthwhile.
