Today we are going to Piazza Armerina, a municipality in central-eastern Sicily located in the Erei mountains at around 700 m above sea level. I must admit that I was unaware of the presence of this place and I thought it was a square in Enna and not a true natural and artistic masterpiece, known as "The city of Mosaics and the Norman Palio" or "The city of 100 churches". Our meeting is at the Duomo, the highest point in the city. From here a series of medieval streets unfold through which we wander in ecstasy, while to the right and left we are surrounded by Renaissance and Baroque buildings. A Vespa whizzing by a few steps away from us brings us back down to earth and understand that we are in the 21st century. Among these ancient buildings we identify the one where the property we are going to visit today is located, the result of a recent renovation where a large and modern apartment has been created on the first and second floors. ...
