Humaitá is a neighborhood in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, bordering the neighborhoods of Botafogo, Jardim Botânico, Lagoa, Alto da Boa Vista, Copacabana and Santa Teresa (the last three only by forest mountains, without road access or for pedestrian).
The neighborhood is currently unified with Botafogo, São Clemente and Voluntários da Pátria. It has a residential character, being one of the few neighbourhoods in the South Zone (“zona sul”) that still has a large number of traditional and old houses, some of them preserved as historical heritage.
Several bus lines pass through the neighborhood, some connecting the South Zone to the North Zone.
